Cooking

It’s never too early to introduce your little ones to the world of flavours, textures, and creativity in the kitchen.

Our mini chefs are like sponges, absorbing everything they see, touch, and taste. Engaging them in cooking activities not only stimulates their senses but also nurtures important life skills, such as hand-eye coordination, basic math, and an appreciation for good food.

Benefits of learning to cook for children:

Develops Fine Motor Skills:

Measuring, pouring, and stirring help improve hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Enhances Math Skills:

Cooking involves basic math concepts like counting, measuring, and estimating quantities.

Boosts Creativity:

Children can experiment with ingredients and flavors, fostering their creativity.

Expands Vocabulary:

Learning cooking terms and ingredients introduces new words and language skills.

Encourages Healthy Eating:

Involving kids in meal preparation promotes an early appreciation for nutritious foods.

Builds Confidence:

Successfully completing cooking tasks gives kids a sense of accomplishment and confidence.

Teaches Patience:

Cooking requires waiting for food to cook, helping kids learn patience and delayed gratification.

Life Skills:

Learning to cook is a lifelong skill that prepares kids for self-sufficiency and a healthy relationship with food.

Bonding and Social Skills:

Cooking with others fosters a sense of community and social interaction.

Good Hygiene:

Cooking is a great way to teach children how to properly wash their hands, especially before handling food and eating.

Learning Activities

We select in-season fruits like bananas, strawberries, and grapes. Show them how to wash, peel (if needed), and cut with a safe knife or plastic knife.
We have fun measuring and mixing simple ingredients to whip up delicious creations.
First we add the tomato sauce, then select our favorite toppings like sliced olives, capsicum, or pepperoni. Lastly we add the cheese to create mini personal pizzas.
We carefully cut our fruit into small chunks and then delicately add pieces of melon, grapes, and berries to create colorful and personalised fruit skewers.
In Summer, we love to make simple fruit popsicles by blending fruit juice with diced fruit pieces and freezing them in our popsicle molds.
